Murchison Falls National Park spans 3,893 km² of savannah, riverine forest and woodland, bisected by the Victoria Nile. Its namesake falls squeeze the world's longest river through a seven-metre gap before it plunges 43 metres — arguably the most powerful natural flow of water anywhere.
Game drives on the northern bank deliver lions, elephants, Rothschild's giraffes and buffalo; boat cruises to the base of the falls pass pods of hippos and giant Nile crocodiles; and Budongo Forest on the park's edge offers excellent chimpanzee tracking.
